Language Courses

St. Petersburg

We offer various language course in Russian at the University of St. Petersburg. You may opt for a language course starting from 1-week duration. One-on-one language courses are available throughout the year. The group courses start on Mondays. The lessons consist of conversation, grammar, reading and writing. The content of one-on-one courses is customized according to your language level. If you have special requirements, we are glad to arrange a curriculum for your one-on-one tutorial. The first day of group languages courses is reserved for a grading test to optimally balance the groups. Upon completion of the language course, you will be awarded with a certificate where upon request, topics and scope of your course may be included. Furthermore, you may request for a final examination. The courses will be conducted by experienced and certified teachers of Russian as a foreign language.

You have the choice between three basic offers. However, we will be delighted to arrange a course package based on your individual requirements.

• Russian Group Course

  The Russian group course consists of class room lessons in groups of four to eight persons and 20 lessons per week (à 45 min.). These courses are available for all levels and start weekly. Grammar, language practice, reading and writing are equally covered.

• Additional One-on-one lessons

  In addition to your group language course, you may book one-on-one lessons starting from five lessons (each 45 min.). These enable you to reach your individual learning targets in your preferred pace, without missing the communication within a group.

• TRKI-/TORFL-Certification

  At the University of St. Petersburg you may undergo the certification exams of TRKI.

If less than five applications with similar language level for one particular date are received, alternatively, you will be offered ten one-on-one lessons per week. The group courses in St. Petersburg are in great demand, so it is unlikely that we will not be able to compose a group with equal participants.

Upon request and additional cost the university offers trips e.g. to the suburbs Pushkin and Peterhof or other cities like Nowgorod or Moscow.
